Galax GeForce RTX 2080 Super HOF 10th Anniversary Black Edition vs RTX 2080 Super HOF 10th Anniversary Edition

Theoretical performance comparison

Each GPU has several important theoretical parameters that influence real-world game, 3D graphics and compute performance. They are texture fillrate, pixel fillrate, memory bandwidth, single- and double-precision performance. Below you will find why they are important, and which card has better characteristics.

Pixel fillrate parameter shows how many pixels a graphics card can draw on screen and off screen. Higher numbers allow graphics cards to support higher display resolutions and frame rates. There are two factors that influence the maximum theoretical pixel fillrate. These are graphics clock speed and the number of Raster Operations Pipelines (ROPs). Since both characteristics are equal between graphics cards, their pixel fillrate is also identical.

Higher is better
There are two factors that affect the maximum texture fillrate. They are the number of TMUs (Texture Mapping Units) and graphics clock. Because both models have the same number of TMUs and the same graphics frequency, their texture fillrate is equal.

Higher is better
Single Precision performance illustrates how good the graphics card is at running applications, that make an extensive use of single-precision floating point numbers. The performance is measured in GFLOPS, or Giga (billions of) Floating Point Operations Per Second. All single-precision calculations are performed by stream processors or CUDA cores, therefore the more cores / processors the graphics card has the better. Performance also depends on the processor clock rate. These two GPUs have the same single-precision performance.

Similar to Single Precision performance, Double Precision one also provides the maximum number of floating-point operations, executed by CUDA cores or stream processors, but it refers to double precision (64-bit) operations. Both cards have the same performance.
